December did not began well for the owners of the Border Store located at 4240 James Madison Pkwy in King George, VA. Borders is a small convenience style store with many unique variety items.

In the wee hours of the morning on December 1st a motorist drove by the Border Store located off Rt. 301 in the Dahlgren area of King George County and observed that the glass door to the business was broken. The motorist then called the Sheriff’s Office.

King George County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and a detective responded to the scene and found evidence that the business was broken into and items were stolen.

According to a press release from KGSO law enforcement reviewed surveillance video which allowed them to observe the suspect vehicle involved in the burglary.

During a search of the Dahlgren area, the suspect vehicle was located by Detective Sergeant Massey, parked in an apartment complex in the area of Owens Drive.

A male subject was found sleeping in the vehicle. He was identified at Francis Edward Rihtaric, 56 years old of St. Leonard, MD.

Stolen items from The Border Store were located in the vehicle.
