Quick Action On Witness Part Saves Driver From Fiery Death

An unnamed juvenile driver was saved by his friends quick thinking and action. Had the witness not taken action the driver may have perished in the vehicle fire.

According to a press release by Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, on September 23 at 8:16 p.m., Deputy B.M. Taylor responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Joshua Road and St. Georges Drive.

The investigation revealed that a juvenile driver went onto the right shoulder, over-corrected and overturned the vehicle on the opposite shoulder.

Luckily, a friend of the driver witnessed the crash and stopped to assist.

The friend broke the overturned vehicle window and assisted the driver out as the vehicle caught fire.

The driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation for what appeared to be minor injuries.

Sheriff David P. Decator wrote, “Thank you to this witness for his quick actions to prevent a more serious outcome.”
