At approximately 4 pm on Saturday June 9 a strong rain shower hit Colonial Beach with very little visual warning. The National Weather Service had warned that a strong line of thunder storms were heading our way.
The town experienced a few lightning strikes and some thunder in the distance just prior to a brief but heavy downpour.
