MERRY POINT FERRY IN LANCASTER COUNTY OUT OF SERVICE FOR REPAIRS

Ferry service has been suspended until further notice due to repairs
needed to vessel’s hydraulic pumps
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Service on the Merry Point Ferry in Lancaster County will remain suspended until further notice.
The Merry Point Ferry ceased operation on Wednesday, Dec. 26, after the vessel’s hydraulic pumps malfunctioned. The ferry will remain out of service while replacement parts are ordered and installed.
Travelers are encouraged to check 511Virginia for real-time information on the ferry’s operational status.
The Merry Point Ferry is a free ferry service operated by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Located on scenic byway Route 604 (Merry Point Road and Ottoman Ferry Road), it crosses the western end of the Corrotoman River.
