At the February 28th Planning Commission Regular Meeting the Commissioners discussed their goals for 2019 and updating the comprehensive plan. Commissioner Bob Christensen said he worries that the comp plan revisions will not be done before 2020.
Colonial Beach Planning Administrator Allyson Finchum said the comp plan is supposed to be reviewed every 5 years. “It’s up to the locality to decide what review means. You could just look at it and say it’s been reviewed without doing anything.” But she said that is not a best practice, since developers, realtors and other people who wish to invest in the community, rely on the information in the Comprehensive Plan.
