Despite Citizen Complaints Town Council Passes Pier Lease Agreement

The public learned at the March 21 Colonial Beach Town Council public hearing that VMRC (Virginia Marine Resources Commission) will not will not allow construction of new piers without a pier lease agreement in place.

The town attorney James Cornwell advised the council that a lease agreement protects the town from liability, thereby protecting tax payer dollars as well.

So despite some citizen complaints concerning the town’s proposed lease agreement…
