Virginia State Police Encourages Drivers to Be Cautious of Slower Moving Vehicles

Sergeant Keeli L. Hill of the VSP cautions drivers to be mindful extra summer traffic including pedestrians and other modes of transportation.
Hill cautions, with the end of the school year and summer month’s approaching, there will be an increase in people traveling and vacationing.
The warm weather also brings about an increase in slower moving vehicles such as tractors, bicycles, mopeds, and an increase in equine traffic to include; horse drawn carriages as well as single riders.
The Virginia State Police would like to encourage everyone traveling on the roadways to be cautious and share the road!
Please be careful and adhere to all basic traffic safety rules by wearing your seat belts, do not drive distracted, follow the speed limits and traffic laws.
Take the extra time to be mindful and cautious of those traveling the roadways in slower moving vehicles, especially on the more rural routes.

The most important thing is for everyone to arrive safely to their destinations!
