Theresa Leeds Accused of Abuse Resulting in Death

Colonial Beach Police Department issued the following press release on Thursday June 27:

On June 26, 2019, Theresa Shree Leeds, 60 years of age, Colonial Beach, Virginia, was arrested on one count of Abuse and Neglect of an Incapacitated Adult Resulting in Death, a Class 3 Felony. 

On June 3, 2019, Department of Social Services contacted Detective Lieutenant Sara Lombrana of the Colonial Beach Police Department in reference to a suspected Abuse and Neglect case. After an in-depth investigation by Detective Lieutenant Lombrana and consultation with the Westmoreland County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, Leeds was subsequently charged and arrested. 

Leeds is currently being held at the Northern Neck Regional Jail without bond. 

The investigation is continuing at this time.

  1. There is no way Theresa Leeds is guilty. Arlene was bed ridden for about 8 years and she is the only one to step up
    and take care of her mother. Social Services knows that. I saw Arlene in May 2019 and she was clean, happy and content. I challenge anyone to the task of taking care of a bed ridden person for 8 years to do a better job than


  2. I agree with Tom above. I would be talking to Theresa on the phone, several different times when she would have to answer to the ringing bell. She would have to hang up because her mom would need changing or moved. She loved her mother and was there for her at all times.
