Planning Commission News, Victoria Luna Hits The Ground Running

Victoria Luna has been recommended by the Colonial Beach Planning Commission as their newest member. She must wait for approval and appointment by the Colonial Beach Town Council to serve on the commission. However last month’s council meeting did not have enough members attending to allow for a quorum. Despite not being appointed by council Luna attended the last planning commission meeting and sat in as a non-voting member.

The commission interviewed Luna at their June 27th meeting prior to voting on their recommendation to council.

Luna first introduced herself to the commission, she said has been a resident of Colonial Beach for over 3 years.

Commissioner Fletcher Lee asked, “How did you find Colonial Beach and what made you stay?”

Luna said, “Well 35 years ago or so my brother and his wife invited us down…
