The Senior’s graduating from Washington and Lee High School in Westmoreland County Virginia will be honored in drive-thrue style.
Superintendent Dr. Michael Perry said the school is dubbing this year’s graduation as the 2020 Drive Thru Celebration.
Graduating Seniors will be scheduled through Tuesday June 9th and Friday June 12th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to be honored for their accomplishments.

Washington and Lee High School is planning several events to honor our Class of 2020 Graduates.
A senior drive-‐thru celebration will be posted on Kings Highway, Route 3,to recognize our students. Washington and Lee High School will also celebrate the many successes of the Class of 2020 by conferring diplomas,with social distancing in mind.
Graduates and up to 4 guests will report to the high school parking area on pre-‐assigned dates and times where they will receive further instructions. Each senior will have 5 minutes to go through the commencement process.
Class of 2020graduates will wear their caps and gowns, walk across our stage, and receive their high school diplomas.
Washington and Lee Graduates will be presented with their Honor cords and medals in recognition of their remarkable academic achievements before they walk across the stage.
When each senior arrives at the W & L parking lot, they will receive the cords and medals and then march.
The graduation ceremony will also include an announcement of scholarships before the tassel is turned. In addition, a videographer and a photographer will be present to help families create lasting memories of this event.
Washington and Lee High School will share a digital graduation ceremony with the Westmoreland community on our Facebook page on a date to be determined.
