Colonial Beach Public Schools Will Not Participate in VHSL Winter Sports
The Colonial Beach Schools Community Facebook Page announced on Friday Jan 15 that the Colonial Beach School system will not participate in the Virginia High School League Winter Sports for the 2020-2021 school year.
The announcement said, “At this time, we are one of four schools within the Northern Neck District to make the difficult decision to cancel winter sports.”
The hard decision was made due to the rise in Covid 19 cases in Westmoreland County according to the release which stated, “CBHS will continue to monitor the Virginia Department of Health school metrics and locality metrics data for decisions regarding the upcoming fall and spring sports schedules.”
The notice ended with a heartfelt message thanking the community for their understanding, “Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this difficult time.”
