One Suspect In KG Carjacking Incident Apprehended

During the execution of several search warrants in Colonial Beach, a suspect was apprehended, in connection with the January 31st carjacking incident in King George.

The carjacking incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. this morning. (January 31, 2022) at the Sheetz Convenience Store located in the area of Dahlgren Rd.

An employee of the store , was approached by two male subjects wearing face coverings as he arrived at work.

The suspects demanded the employee turn over his car to them then fled the scene.

The arrest:

According to a press release issued by the King George Sheriff’s Office, search warrants were executed on two residences in Colonial Beach on Sunday, February 20th in a joint operation involving the King George Sheriff’s Office, Westmoreland Sheriff’s Office, Colonial Beach Police, and members of the Virginia State Police tactical team.

This operation was related to multiple criminal investigations being conducted by law enforcement in King George, Westmoreland, and Colonial Beach.

During the execution of these warrants, a 17 year old juvenile was arrested.

He has been charged with armed carjacking in relation to the King George carjacking.
