Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Lancaster on Saturday, April 8. The incident occurred around 7 p.m.
At 7:09 p.m. on Saturday (Apr 8,2023) Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Rte. 622 (Moraticco Rd.) approximately .28 miles east of Rte. 615 (Peirces Rd.) in Lancaster County.

A 2006 Chrysler Sebring driven by Maurice Warren Boyd, 74, of Lancaster ran off the road to the right while traveling west on Rte. 622 (Moraticco Rd.) and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to overturn.
Boyd succumbed to injuries on the scene. He was not wearing a seat-belt.
This crash remains under investigation
