Pollen, Pollution and Precipitation Oh My!

Today’s air quality for Colonial Beach is a bit confusing given reports we’ve been getting on the amount of pollution we were supposed to get from the fires in Canada.

It shows our area to have good air quality, with some moderate areas of concern for Air Quality. And you can see a few areas of unhealthy to very unhealthy.

This interactive Air Quality map for Air Now shows the current air quality affects of the Canadian Fires as of 6-8-23 at 10 a.m. The orange indicates the pollution will affect sensitive groups and the red is unhealthy for all people. People with lung issues should remain indoors as much as possible. All others should limit outdoor exposure and avoid heavy work outs in this weather.

Pollen Count

Believe it or not pollen count still counts! But with more people allergies, asthma and other lung issues, staying inside, hopefully the pollen will remain a non issue.

Today’s count is moderate at 7. 2 from grasses, Mulberry and Walnut. Currently We’re experiencing some morning rain.

At 10 a.m. it’s 64 degrees with a high of 76 expected today. Overnight temperatures will dip down to 56 by Friday morning. Chance of rain will drop soon and only a slight chance of rain remains throughout the day.
