Jaun Benavidez has been charged with First Degree Murder. He is currently being held in Northern Neck Regional Jail without bond.
On July 20, the public woke up to a press release issued by Westmoreland County on their facebook page stating that the suspect Jaun Benavidez had been apprehended.
“A King George man is now behind bars after being apprehended by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office early Friday (July 20) in the county. Juan Benavidez II, 19, was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Northern Neck Regional Jail without bond. The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office has charged him with felony count of arson of a vehicle.” (Like the one pictured above)
On July 21, human remains were discovered at different locations in the Fairview Beach community of King George County and were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for examination, autopsy and positive identification.
Police feared the remains may be those of missing 19 year old Megan Metzger. (pictured above)
