The Fund-Raising is far from over but work has already begun on the Torrey Smith Rec-Center. Phase one of the construction of the community recreational center, that will sit atop the Water Tower Ball Field in Colonial Beach Virginia, began prior to the Veterans Day Weekend.
Commissioner Robin Schick gave an update on the Torrey Smith Community Rec Center construction phases at the Colonial Beach Planning Commission last month.
Schick began by informing the Commission that invitations to bid went out, and had been received and a contractor has been selected for the first phase of the project at a cost of $295,000.00.
