Despite a high of 40 on Wednesday there is a chance rain will turn into snow. Wednesday morning will began with a low 30 degrees. Temps will rise slightly reaching 38 by noon when the chance of rain or possible snow is highest.
As the day progresses the chance of precipitation diminishes with 40 degrees being the high at 3 p.m.
Expect temperatures to dip down slowly reaching 33 by midnight.

VDOT Hot Spots
12-4-18 ROUTE 222 (WEEMS ROAD) IN LANCASTER COUNTY CLOSED WITH SINKHOLE
Crews were on scene to determine cause, assess damage and plans for repair.
Route 222 (Weems Road) in Lancaster County is closed after a sinkhole formed in the roadway.
Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are on the scene to determine what caused the sinkhole, assess the damage and develop repair plans.
A re-opening date is not yet available.
Message boards are posted to alert drivers to the emergency closure. Detour signs are also posted along the recommended detour, which is approximately a half mile:
- Route 646 (Christ Church Road)
- Route 709 (Gaskins Road)
According to a recent traffic count, approximately 1,500 vehicles a day travel Weems Road.

SCHOOLS: Holiday Coffee With Superintendent

TOWN: In observation of the National Day of Mourning honoring the 41st President, George H.W. Bush, the deadline for payment of real estate and personal property taxes has been changed to Thursday, December 6, 2018.
Town offices will remain open on Wednesday, December 5th. All real estate and personal property taxes due will be considered late if not paid or postmarked by close of business on Thursday, December 6th.
Also, please be advised that special yard debris pickup is scheduled to take place the week of December 17th through 21st.
