We rescued this little guy this evening from our cats. They are highly upset with us. It was dark so its parents were nowhere in sight.

Weather

Wake up to 71 at 6 a.m. on Wednesday. Expect another wet day with showers throughout and cloudy skies.

By 9 a.m. temperatures will reach 74 and by noon 78 degrees. It will also be another day of high humidity.

Thunderstorms are predicted at 11 a.m., another around 1 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. However a chance of rain exists all day long.

The high of 82 will be reached at 4 p.m. with 41% chance of rain to help keep those mosquitoes at bay.

By 8 p.m. temperatures drop back down to 77 and by midnight 73 degrees.

Wake up to 71 degrees at 6 a.m. with intermittent clouds on Thursday.

The town of Colonial beach will hold a public hearing to raise water and sewer rates on June 19 at 6 p.m. at the town meeting room located at 22 Washington Ave.

Current water and sewer rates are billed quarterly at $235.00. This breaks down to $24.10 a month for water and $54.23 a month for sewer.

Proposed water and sewer rates will raise to $35.00 a month for water and $66.67 a month for sewer for a total raise of $23.34 a month.

Billing Quarterly, if approved by council, water and sewer will rise from $235.00 to $305.01.

NOTE: When water meter billing is implemented the raised rate will be a base rate for minimum usage (to be determined) and additional water usage will be billed by the 100 gallons.
