Wake up to 73 degrees and 84 % humidity by 6 a.m. on Tuesday. By 9 a.m. temperatures reach 80 and by noon 87 degrees with a real feel of 99.

Tuesday will be another hot day with high humidity and very little breeze.

By 2 p.m. the temperature will be 90 but will feel like 101 degrees with 52% humidity.

The high for Tuesday will be 92 at 4 p.m. By 6 p.m. the temperature will only fall slightly to 88 degrees with a real feel of 95.

By 9 p.m. temperatures will fall to 82 and by midnight reach 79 degrees. A chance of a thundershower begins at around 5 p.m. but the greatest chance will be at 10 p.m.

Be sure to stay hydrated and remember to cool down vehicles prior to leaving. Temperatures in cars can reach deadly within a short period of time if left with windows closed. Never leave pets or kids unattended in vehicle.

Overnight temperatures will be in the high 70’s. Wake up to 76 at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

The most common signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion include:

  • Confusion.
  • Dark-colored urine (a sign of dehydration)
  • Dizziness.
  • Fainting.
  • Fatigue.
  • Headache.
  • Muscle or abdominal cramps.
  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

July 16: Torrey Smith Park Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Torrey Smith Rec-Center will officially open on July 16. Festivities will take place between 5 to 7 p.m.

Torrey Smith and his family will be on hand along with Coach Steve Swope and his wife Ann to celebrate the grand opening. Also planning to attend are Mayor Eddie Blunt, Vice Mayor Robin Schick along with other members of council and Town Manager Quinn Robertson.

There will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with games, food and music!


Traffic:

VDOT HOT SPOTS July 14 – July 20

VDOT: Travelers can expect overnight and daytime delays this week on Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) between Route 3 and Route 301 in King George County as crews continue to mill and pave this primary road.

Route 206 will be reduced to a single lane at the following dates, times and locations:

Between Route 3 and Route 644 (Potts Lane)

Sunday, July 14
• 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19
• 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and
• 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Between Route 644 (Potts Lane) and Route 301

Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19
• 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Crews will direct one-way, alternating traffic through these work zone.
