On December 18, 2019 (Wednesday) at 5:45 p.m., the Virginia State Police responded to Route 360 on the Downing Bridge for a four vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation reveals that an adult male driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound Route 360 on the Downing Bridge when he veered into the westbound lanes sideswiping another pickup truck in addition to a Toyota Corolla. The driver of the Silverado then struck head on a Honda Civic traveling in the westbound lanes.
All drivers involved were wearing their seat belts. The adult male driver of the Silverado was transported to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The adult male driver of the Honda Civic was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
Fatigue is being considered a factor into the cause of the crash.
Charges are pending at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
