White House Message The Constitution Matters Even During A Pandemic
By Linda Farneth
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany called a press conference today on December 2 at about 1:00 p.m.
McEnany began by saying, “The U.S. Constitution matters even during a pandemic.”
McEnany went on to announce that the U.S. Supreme Court rebuked New York City’s restrictions on the number of people who can legally gather during worship services.
The Administration aired videos to illustrate the statement that several Democratic Governors have acted hypocritically in following their own pandemic restrictions.
McEnany also announce that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo “Attacked the legitimacy of the Supreme Court” and it’s decision and read the following quote from Cuomo, “You have a different court, and I think that was the statement that the court was making, We know who he appointed to the court. We know their ideology.”
The New York Times said this about the quote,
“Mr. Cuomo accused the court of partisanship, suggesting the ruling reflected the influence of the three conservative justices who have been nominated by President Trump in the past four years.”
The statement lasted approximately 5 minutes, after which McEnany took questions from the press. The majority of the questions were centered on Trumps views on the election results and willingness to give up the office.
