Fatal Crash Takes Life of Colonial Beach Resident

Sadly 26 year old Calvin L Harris of Colonial Beach succumbed to injuries after his vehicle crashed on Route 205 yesterday.

According to a press release from Virginia State Police, Public Information Officer, Sergeant Dylan Davenport:

At 12:38 p.m. on Saturday (Aug 28), Virginia State Police responded to a crash on Route 205 (James Monroe Highway) at the intersection with 628 (Stony Knoll.) in Westmoreland County Virginia.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2019 Dodge Charger, driven by Harris, was headed west on Route 205 when it ran off the road to the right and struck a tree. The vehicle subsequently rolled over.

Calvin L. Harris Jr, 26, of Colonial Beach Va was the driver and sole occupant of the Dodge. He was not wearing a seat belt, and was partially ejected. He succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Troopers are investigating the possibility that another vehicle, a blue sedan, may have been a factor in the crash.
