King George Convenience Store Robbed Suspect Still at Large

According to First Sgt. Kecia Wharton of the King George Sheriff’s Department a robbery occurred at a convenience store on Route 3 in King George this morning. Police are still trying to locate the suspect and are asking the public for any information they might have.

According to the press release, on Thursday, September 1st at 5:27 AM, KGSO received a 911 call from the King George Gas Mart convenience store located on the corner of Rt. 3 and Stanley Rd. in King George, Va.

The victim, an employee of the store, told the police, the male suspect entered the store wearing a mask and demanded cash. The victim complied with the demand after which the suspect fled on foot. There were no injuries reported.

Deputies responded and confirmed that the suspect was no longer at the scene. Surveillance video and witnesses at the scene provided deputies with the suspect’s description. The responding deputies searched the area but found no sign of the suspect. Detectives and a K-9 unit also responded to the scene.

This incident is currently under investigation.
