VSP Investigating Fatal Crash on Saturday in King William County

Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday evening and resulted in the death of one driver and her passenger in King William County. The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

At 7:15 p.m. on Saturday (Oct 29), Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash westbound on Nelson’s Bridge Rd. one mile east of River Rd. in King William County.

A 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by Brittany Lee Wiles, 33, of Richmond Va., ran off the road to the right, over-corrected, and reentered the roadway in a horizontal manner. She could not avoid a collision, in a t-bone style, with a 2014 Kia Sportage, driven by Katherine Tucker Whitehead, 67, of Manquin Va.

Ms. Wiles and her juvenile passenger were pronounced deceased on the scene. They were both wearing their seat-belt. 

Ms. Whitehead was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was wearing her seat-belt. 

This crash remains under investigation.
