Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal head on collision that killed one driver.
According to a press release the crash occurred on Saturday December 31 just after noon at 12:35 p.m.
Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash westbound on Rte. 218/ Windsor Dr. just east of Rte. 616/ Washington Mill Rd. in King George County.
A 2006 Honda Accord, driven by Edith Jane Chapman, 76, of Colonial Beach, Va., ran off the road to the right on Rte. 218/ Windsor Dr.
The Honda Accord over corrected and struck a 2004 Toyota Sienna head on.
The Toyota Sienna was driven by 30 year old, Candice Lachelle Grim, of Colonial Beach, Va.,
Sadly, Chapman, who was wearing her seat-belt, succumbed to injuries on the scene.
Grim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was also wearing her seat-belt.
This crash remains under investigation.
