Interstate 95 at Exit 118/Mudd Tavern Road Widening and Bridge Replacement Project

Former Mudd Tavern Road Bridge over I-95 Demolition

Demolition of the former Mudd Tavern Road bridge over I-95 continues this week.  I-95 northbound and southbound travelers should expect the following overnight lane closures and detour to ramps in the work zone this week:

Monday, Nov. 5

·       9 p.m.  − Single lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound

·       10 p.m. − Double lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound

·       12 a.m. – 5 a.m. – All I-95 northbound traffic will be diverted to the exit ramp, directed across Mudd Tavern Road, and guided onto the entrance ramp to the interstate. Two lanes on I-95 southbound will remain closed. ALL lanes on the interstate will reopen by 5 a.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 6 − Friday, Nov. 9

·       9 p.m.  − Single lane closed on I-95 southbound

·       10 p.m. − Double lane closures on I-95 southbound

·       12 a.m. – 5 a.m. – All I-95 southbound traffic will be diverted to the exit ramp, directed across Mudd Tavern Road, and guided onto the entrance ramp to the interstate. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

Local drivers should anticipate alternating, one-way traffic and flagging operations on Mudd Tavern Road during the overnight work. Local traffic will be able to access I-95. To avoid delays, drivers may use Exit 110/Ladysmith or Exit 126/Massaponax to enter or exit I-95 during the overnight hours.

Mudd Tavern Road and Mallard Road

Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Expect alternating, one-way traffic on Mudd Tavern Road and Mallard Road near the interchange for construction. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.
