ROUTE 637 (TELEGRAPH ROAD) IN STAFFORD COUNTY NOW OPEN TO THROUGH TRAFFIC

Telegraph Road reopened to through traffic today at the Interstate 95 overpass, allowing travel to resume between Route 1 and Quantico Marine Corps Base

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 637 (Telegraph Road) in Stafford County is now open at the Interstate 95 overpass, allowing through travel to resume between Route 1 and Quantico Marine Corps Base.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) closed Telegraph Road in July to install new drainage facilities between Route 1 and the Interstate 95 overpass.

A temporary traffic signal was installed in the work zone to allow local residents access to their homes. Next week, the temporary traffic signal will be reactivated to allow for final construction activities, although Telegraph Road will remain open to through traffic between Route 1 and Quantico Marine Corps Base.

Drivers should anticipate one-way, alternating traffic on Telegraph Road controlled by the temporary signal between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays through Friday, Nov. 16.
