Letter to parents from Westmoreland County Schools:
Hello, students and parents. As you know, schools are closed through March 27, 2020. During the two-week closure, we want to do all we can to provide continuity of instruction.
Teachers are preparing instructional packets for each student. These packets are designed to carry students through the next two weeks of instruction. Parents are asked to stop by your child’s school tomorrow – Tuesday, March 17 between the hours of noon and 3:00 p.m. to pick up your child’s work. Stations will be set up at the front of each school, so pick up will be grab-and-go. Again, please stop by the school to pick up your child’s work Tuesday, March 17 between the hours of noon and 3:00 p.m.
During the two-week closure, we want to do all we can to provide continuity of food services.
Beginning this Wednesday, March 18, 2020, Westmoreland County Public Schools will begin delivery of meals to your homes. Meals will be prepared by food services staff, and delivered by bus drivers and other school staff. Delivery of food will occur once daily for each weekday that schools are closed. The daily delivery will include breakfast and lunch for each member of the household under the age of 18. These meals are FREE.
Meals will be delivered between 11:00 a.m. and noon, following regular bus routes. Please meet the bus at your regular bus stop to receive the delivery.
Children who do not normally ride the bus will be included in the food delivery routes. If your child does not have an assigned bus, please call the school office to provide your address for food delivery.
Again, food delivery will begin Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Please meet the bus at your regular bus stop between 11:00 a.m. and noon.
